The PakLites are lightweight and designed for heavy outdoor use. Built for the hunters and outdoorsmen who count every ounce in their packs, these knives feature a full-tang, skeletonized construction with minimalist, removable handles for easy cleaning. The Field Kit includes two Buck knife models - the 631 PakLite Field and the 635 PakLite Cape plus a black polypropylene sheath. The sheath includes an optional adapter plate that connects the two knives for simplified carry.
The Buck 631 PakLite Field Knife is larger and is designed as a general-purpose hunting knife, but it also makes a great survival/outdoors knife. The 3.1-ounce, full-tang, skeletal design gives the knife exceptional strength and the ability to process an entire animal without the need to resharpen in the field. The skinner blade shape allows for detailed work, lessening the animal's chance of puncturing.
The second fixed blade in the kit, the Buck 635 PakLite Cape Knife, is designed for caping or processing small game, weighing only 1.59 ounces. The drop point blade gives this knife great versatility, allowing it to be used for various tasks besides hunting.
